A performance BMW that returns great mileage is something rare in current times. Equally as rare is the sight of a Alpina tuned BMW here on local roads but there’s always hope. Based on the BMW 3-Series Coupe, the D3 Bi-Turbo Coupe runs on a modified version of the BMW 123d’s 2-liter twin-turbo diesel that churns out 214hp.
The D3 is very capable of impressive figures, top speed stands at 245km/h and a 0-100 time of 6.9 seconds, but what is very impressive is one figure that most supercars cant match, liters per kilometer. When running at speeds above 200km/h it still manages to return 5.4liters for every 100km with a manual gearbox and 5.6liters for every 100km/h with an automatic transmission.
