Good news for those who drooled over the unveiling of the new 2008 Chevrolet Camaro at the Detroit Auto Show this year, Chevrolet is finally confirming Camaro as a production model which will go on sale in early 2009. Chevrolet promised the new 2008 Camaro production model will be faithful in design and performance to the Detroit concept.
Following the strong showing for the Ford Mustang and the promising response to the Chrysler-Daimler offering of its Avenger, GM is moving forward with its retro-styled two-door coupe. A large bore V-8 mill will add to the excitement of this Motown revival. The new 2008 Camaro is indeed a facsimile of the 1969 favorite while introducing modern styling cues to bring it right up to date.
325 HP LS1 V8 ENGINE
Camaro will be powered by a choice of three engines, a 400hp 6.0-liter LS2 V-8 engine, a 325hp V8 LS1 engine, and a V-6 version.
