The Odyssey's i-VTEC engine is a combination of Honda's VTEC (Variable Valve Timing and Electronic Lift Control) with VTC (Valve Timing Control), to optimise intake valve timing in response to engine load.

The 2.4-litre engine combines high torque and high fuel economy with low emissions capable of meeting Euro-3 emission standards. Power output is a more than adequate 160ps and the torque figure is an equally respectable 218Nm.Featuring a new ultra-low floor platform technology, Honda has increased the interior space through space-saving technical innovation in the engine, suspension, petrol tank and exhaust system design.

The ultra-low floor platform is the key to the Odyssey's stylish new look and sporty feel, giving it a lower centre of gravity for road-hugging handling, easier kerb-side passenger access usually associated with executive saloons and a lower roofline for improved aerodynamics.

Comprehensive safety measures confer a strong sense of confidence. Responsive acceleration and handling combines with ABS to deliver exceptional control. In the event of an unavoidable collision, passive measures include dual SRS airbags and three-point ELR seltbelts with pretensioners and load limiters. The Odyssey also embraces Honda G-Force Control technology - an innovation that creates a "survival zone" by maintaining the structural integrity of the passenger compartment.

Equipped with the latest security features, the Odyssey has an engine immobilizer with a difficult-to-duplicate "wave" blade key for theft prevention. Honda wants you to feel confident in Odyssey motoring freedom.
